It should be one of the more interesting pairings in the past 25 years: The Thrill from West Hill driving for The Tempestuous Texan.

Paul Tracy will sub for the injured Vitor Meira at Milwaukee this weekend. PT, who drove with AJ Foyt IV at last year, will complete the Foyt trifecta after driving for the AJ Foyt-owned and Larry Foyt-managed team. (LAT)

As first speculated on SPEEDtv.com, Paul Tracy is replacing the injured Vitor Meira this weekend at Milwaukee and looking forward to being the wheelman for the Indy-car legend.

"We're cut from the same cloth, a couple of no b.s. guys who are a little rough around the edges and who can back it up on the track," said Tracy on Tuesday afternoon. "A.J. won a lot of races at Milwaukee and I've won there four times so I'm looking forward to going back and driving for him.

"I talked with Larry (Foyt, team manager) for a long time and they've got a good sponsor in ABC Supply and I
think I can help them. They're going to the 7-post shaker rig tomorrow and they're trying to do the right things, that's all you can ask."

Tracy, who started 15th and ran as high as fourth before falling back to ninth last Sunday in his first start of 2009 for KV Racing, is only on board for one race at the moment.

"They want to see how it goes and how we work together and then we'll see what happens," said the 40-year-old veteran who owns 31 victories (all in CART). "I'd like to do as many races as possible."

Tracy will drive for KV Racing at Toronto and Edmonton in July and Meira is out for 4-6 months with two broken vertebrae in his lower back.
