Mike Wallace Left Frustrated at Darlington; Home Game Up Next After Week Off

Darlington, SC (May 9, 2008) – The ‘Track Too Tough To Tame’ entertained Mike Wallace and the GEICO Racing team over the weekend. The historic Darlington Raceway received a makeover during the off-season and while the racing surface was significantly faster, Wallace and the Gecko would adapt quickly and take the #7 GEICO Camry to the front of the field.
NASCAR’s #2 series was afforded three practice sessions in Darlington, which worked well for Wallace until he found the wall during the final session. After sitting 9th on the opening charts, Wallace would ultimately find himself in the garage with damage to the #7 GEICO Camry. (complete release)
Tracy’s Indy 500 Options Continue to Dwindle

Paul Tracy's options for racing in this month's Indianapolis 500 shrunk by one on Friday after Vision Racing confirmed that Davey Hamilton would fill the seat in the No. 22 car.
Vision, which is owned by IRL founder Tony George, had entered three cars for the May 25th race with regulars A.J. Foyt IV and Ed Carpenter taking up two seats.
George is believed to have previously offered Tracy an opportunity to race in the unified series with Vision but the Toronto racer has maintained he would like to join one of the top tier teams.(complete story)

Richmond, VA (May 2, 2008) – Heading into Richmond sitting 9th in points, Mike Wallace was looking to make up ground on the Top 5 with a good finish on Friday night.
NASCAR’s #2 series would be afforded a single practice session prior to the Lipton Tea 250. Wallace would take advantage of the limited time permitted, and would rest the GEICO Camry 16th on the speed charts when the practice concluded.
Qualifying would not be as promising when Wallace toured the .75-mile facility in 21.962 seconds, at a rate of speed of 122.940 MPH. His speed would be good enough for 18th position when the #7 GEICO Camry lined up to go racing under the lights on Friday night. (complete release)
